Where is the app?

Pixel Soup has no Dock icon. After it launches, look for a small round handle on the left or right edge of your screen. Click it once for quick actions, click again to open the full editor. There is also a bowl icon in the menu bar with the same actions, and Handle Position there moves the handle to the other edge.

The handle disappeared

Open Pixel Soup again from your Applications folder: that opens the editor wherever the handle went. The handle lives on your main display. If it still does not come back, email me and say which macOS version and how many displays you use.

Applying a wallpaper

Press Apply in the editor. Still sets the frame you are looking at as your desktop picture. Animated keeps it moving slowly behind your icons, at the speed you set. Both apply to every display.

Exporting a PNG

Use the export button in the editor to save the current wallpaper at your display size, 6K, iPhone, or as a 2048 square. You choose where the file goes. Pixel Soup only ever writes to the folder you pick.

Using your own photo

Pick the Image pattern and choose a photo. The photo is copied into the app's own storage so the wallpaper keeps working after you move or delete the original. JPEG, PNG and HEIC all work.

Which version should I buy?

They are the same app at the same price. The Mac App Store version updates through the App Store. The direct download is a notarized DMG bought through Dodo Payments; it checks for a new version once a day and installs it when you say so. You can also use Check for Updates in the menu bar.

Refunds

If Pixel Soup is not for you, email me within 14 days and I will refund the direct purchase, no explanation needed. App Store purchases are refunded by Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com.
