Privacy

Pixel Soup collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporting and no server to talk to.

The app

Updates (direct download only)

The copy bought from this site checks for a new version once a day by fetching one file, pixelsoup.app/appcast.xml, and downloads the update from pixelsoup.app when you choose to install it. Those requests carry the app's version and your Mac's IP address, as any web request does, and Cloudflare logs them as described above. Nothing else is sent: no identifier, no system profile, no usage data. Updates are signed, and the app refuses one that is not.

Licence key (direct download only)

The copy bought from this site asks for the licence key from your receipt. When you activate it, the app sends the key and your Mac's name to Dodo Payments to check it is genuine and to count it against the number of Macs it covers, and it checks the key again now and then. Nothing else is sent. Deactivating a Mac in the app frees that slot.

This website

pixelsoup.app is a static site on Cloudflare Pages. There are no cookies and no analytics scripts. Cloudflare processes request logs to serve and protect the site, as described in their own privacy policy. The display font is loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the request for the font file.

Buying

The direct download is sold by Dodo Payments, who act as merchant of record and handle your payment details, receipt and any tax. I never see your card. I receive your email address with the order so I can send you the app and reach you about it. Mac App Store purchases are handled entirely by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy.
